-Slamarena was started in 2000 at Da' Poetry Lounge with the support of local poet and Slammaster Shihan -the 2002 'DPL' team placed 9th in the nation(out of a possible 56 teams) -the 2001 team "DPL" placed 17th in the nation
-the 2000 team placed 25th in the natoin -team "DPL" has produced performances and workshops for schools and organizations throughout Southern California including sponsoring 2 Fairfax H.S. students to accompany TEAM 'DPL' to the National Poetry Slam.
Nationals Update
-Sekou(tha Misfit) is the number #1 ranked poet in the nation. -Gina Loring is ranked #6. Leaving her as the highest ranked female poet in the nation.
